About the class

THROUGH A SOFT LENS

Saturday morning

‘There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in’ - Leonard Cohen

We begin with somatic experiencing - a soft, body-led way of moving - drawing on the imagery of winged creatures and the element of air. Postures emerge from the inside out rather than being placed from the outside in.

Weaving in ideas from The Rainbow Bridge - vayu (winds), the great elements, the layers of consciousness - we move gently toward the concept of deep time: the slow, ancient pulse beneath the everyday.

JOURNEY INTO DEEP TIME

Saturday afternoon

A more reflective session, and a deeper one. We explore yoga’s wholistic template - cultivating awareness through the koshas, guided by niyamas: kindness and self-acceptance.

The nature writing of Robert Macfarlane (Is a River Alive?, Underland) offers us a somatic language - a way of sensing the world, not just thinking about it. Indigenous wisdom sits quietly at the heart of this: the understanding that nature isn’t a resource to manage but a living, breathing expression of consciousness.

We close with Deep Time Yoga Nidra.

Throughout the day, somatic touch and essential oils (AromaPrana) will weave through the practices. We make space to pause and breathe. That’s not incidental - it’s the point.

CO-CREATING TREE

Sunday morning

A celebration of everything we’ve gathered. Individual ideas and sequences come together into something shared.

Druid translates as ‘knower of the tree’ - so Tree Pose and its variations sit at the centre, with balances and pivots building outward. We close with Deep Time Nidra.

What to bring

A poem or song that means something to you. Art materials if you like (sharpies and paper will be there). Or just yourself, and an open curiosity.
