About the class

This workshop is for students, trainees and teachers who are interested in learning how Restorative yoga works and how it can be made accessible to all.

Gee will give an overview of restorative yoga and its benefits, then guide you through a restorative practice using just blankets.

The class will be followed by pose breakdowns, to show how easily you can incorporate Restorative yoga poses into your practice/classes, without the need of a mountain of props. Having lots of props is brilliant for Restorative, but it is not essential and shouldn’t be a barrier to practising this style of yoga.

Gee will show you how to adapt the poses to work with the props you have access to, encouraging Restorative to be accessible to everybody.

About Gee :

Most of Georgia’s yoga journey has OrangeYoga at the core of it.

She has been a student of Ian’s for many years and started her 200hr Teacher Training with him during her final year of University. Since qualifying she has gone on to study for her 500hr Teacher Training qualification.

Georgia currently teaches Restorative yoga at OrangeYoga, she is also due to complete her Yin teacher training.

She loves teaching and tries to make her students feel as safe and calm in her classes as possible. She uses soft, background music within her classes to help her students switch off their active minds and relax further into the practice.

Georgia has a calm and soothing way of teaching, allowing her students to feel at ease as they slow down and open up their bodies through passive stretching. This mix of stillness, stretches and gentle movement lets our muscles deeply relax and rejuvenate.

Her classes are accessible to all ages and abilities, as the use of props within her practice allows modifications to easily be given, when needed.

She teaches because she is passionate about how influential yoga can be for the mental and physical body. She found yoga gave her the mental respite she was desperately searching for, and finds her own daily practise is what keeps her mentally and physically healthy.

** PRACTICAL BITS **

Due to the nature of the Crescent Bakery building, it's ideal to wear layers of clothing for cooler / warmer fluctuations.
